ACLS Instructor Renewal (with BLS Provider)

The ACLS Instructor Renewal Course is designed for existing ACLS instructors eligible for instructor status renewal.

As a bonus, this class also offers BLS Provider recertification

 

 

Course Prerequisites:

  • Aligned with an AHA Training Center**
  • A current ACLS Instructor card
  • A valid BLS Provider card or a valid HeartCode BLS completion certificate.
  • Registered with the AHA Atlas website.
  • Records demonstrating you have taught at least 4 classes during the current 2 year instructor certification period.

** Please note:  If you do not plan to teach primarily within St. Charles County you must align as an instructor with another AHA training center. On the day of the class you will need to complete a transfer form to align with another site or bring the TC's address and the TC Coordinator's name

Successful Completion:

  • Complete all prerequisites
  • Attend the instructor renewal class
  • Demonstrate BLS and ACLS provider skills with expert proficiency
  • Pass the ACLS provider written examination
  • Pass the ACLS instructor written examination
  • Competently evaluate another student running a Megacode
  • Complete any instructor updates as per the AHA (if applicable)
  • Present a copy of your unexpired ACLS Instructor card.
  • Present a copy of your unexpired BLS Provider card or a valid HeartCode BLS completion certificate.

 

ACLS Instructor and BLS Provider certifications are valid for a period of 2 years. To maintain ACLS Instructor status, you must teach a minimum of 4 ACLS classes during your 2-year certification period prior to renewal. Your ACLS instructor card supersedes the ACLS provider card. 

SCCAD will process certification cards within 20 working days after the completion of all course requirements.

Our training center has relocated to our new unified headquarters at 2000 Salt River Road in St Peters.

 

REGISTRATION & REFUNDS

Registrations are taken on a first come, first served basis, and are not confirmed until registration and payment is completed online. Space is limited, so we strongly recommend registering as early as possible.

Classes may be cancelled due to insufficient enrollment. A complete refund will be issued if this occurs.

If you need to cancel a registration, you must do so at least 48 hours in advance to receive a refund (minus a $10.00 processing fee). Cancellations received less than 48 hours prior to the program date are not refundable. If possible and sufficient class space is available, registration may be transferred to another date.

Promotional codes, for online registration, are assigned and are intended for use by pre-designated users only. Registrants found to have used unauthorized promotional codes will be required to pay full course fees or have registration cancelled.

ACCREDITATION

St. Charles County Ambulance District is approved as an EMS training entity through the Missouri Department of Health, Bureau of EMS. Certificates and CEUs will be awarded upon completion of applicable courses.
