CPR Instructor - Basic Life Support (BLS)
Date/Time: Tue 10/21/2025 from 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM
Location: SCCAD HQ - SALT RIVER
Class Price: $180.00

This BLS CPR Instructor Course is designed to prepare individuals to become instructors for "BLS" as well as all "Heartsaver" CPR and First Aid classes.

Make sure your current provider card reads, "BLS." If it is labeled "Heartsaver," this is not the course you need.

Course Prerequisites:

  • Be accepted into an AHA Training Center (please see restrictions below**).
  • A current AHA BLS Provider card*
  • Registered with the AHA Atlas Website.
  • Completion Certificate for the online course, BLS Instructor Essentials.

Instructor candidates are responsible for acquiring their own instructor and provider manuals (must be the latest edition, having the new guidelines). THE MANUALS MUST BE BROUGHT TO THE CLASSROOM SESSION IN ORDER TO BE ELIGIBLE TO RECEIVE AN AHA CPR INSTRUCTOR CERTIFICATION CARD.

The required books for a BLS instructor are:

Manuals may be purchased at ShopCPR.Heart.org

Course Monitoring:

Within 6 months following the successful completion of the Instructor course, the instructor candidate must be monitored teaching by Training Center Faculty (The TC may require additional monitoring, if needed).

Course recognition is 2 years from the date of the classroom portion of the course. The instructor card supersedes the provider card.

** Please note:  Instructor alignment with SCCAD requires the pre-approval of the Training Center Coordinator and is granted only to candidates who will teach at least 90% of their classes within St. Charles County. If you are unable to meet this requirement, you will need to align with a different AHA training center prior to the date of this class. Click here for a list of AHA Training Centers in the St. Louis region.

INSTRUCTORS ALIGNED WITH RC HEALTH SERVICES: If RC Health Services is your Primary AHA Training Center, you cannot attend this instructor course and must contact your TC Coordinator to find an alternative location. We apologize for the inconvenience.

REGISTRATION & REFUNDS

Registrations are taken on a first come, first served basis, and are not confirmed until registration and payment is completed online. Space is limited, so we strongly recommend registering as early as possible.

Classes may be cancelled due to insufficient enrollment. A complete refund will be issued if this occurs.

If you need to cancel a registration, you must do so at least 48 hours in advance to receive a refund (minus a $10.00 processing fee). Cancellations received less than 48 hours prior to the program date are not refundable. If possible and sufficient class space is available, registration may be transferred to another date.

Promotional codes, for online registration, are assigned and are intended for use by pre-designated users only. Registrants found to have used unauthorized promotional codes will be required to pay full course fees or have registration cancelled.

ACCREDITATION

St. Charles County Ambulance District is approved as an EMS training entity through the Missouri Department of Health, Bureau of EMS. Certificates and CEUs will be awarded upon completion of applicable courses.
