Date/Time: Wed 4/9/2025 from 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM
Location: SCCAD HQ - SALT RIVER
Class Price: $150.00

This Heartsaver CPR Instructor Course is designed to prepare individuals to become instructors for "Heartsaver CPR" classes (not BLS for Healthcare Provider classes)

Make sure your current provider card reads, "Heartsaver." If it is labeled "BLS," this is not the course you need.

Course Prerequisites:

  • Be accepted into an AHA Training Center prior to coming to class. Authorization must be granted by the TC's Coordinator on a case-by-case basis. Complete this FORM & bring it to class. To align with SCCAD, you must meet very specific criteria (see below)**
  • A current AHA CPR Provider card
  • Registered with the AHA Atlas Website.
  • Complete Heartsaver Instructor Essentials Online course. Bring completion certificate to class.

If you have a "Heartsaver" CPR provider card you will be issued a Heartsaver instructor card upon successful completion of all course requirements. At that time, you will only be authorized to teach Heartsaver courses.

Instructor candidates are responsible for acquiring their own instructor manuals. THE MANUALS MUST BE BROUGHT TO THE CLASSROOM SESSION IN ORDER TO BE ELIGIBLE TO RECEIVE AN AHA CPR INSTRUCTOR CERTIFICATION CARD.

The required books for a Heartsaver instructor are:

  • Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED Instructor Manual 2020 - Item #: 20-1130.    ISBN: 978-1-61669-831-7
  • Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED Student Workbook 2020 - Item #: 20-1126 ISBN: 978-1-61669-827-0  (optional)
  • Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid CPR AED Student Workbook 2020 - Item #: 20-1124 ISBN: 978-1-61669-825-6  (optional)
  • Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid CPR AED Instructor Manual 2020 -  Item #: 20-1122   ISBN: 978-1-61669-823-2

Manuals may be purchased at ShopCPR.Heart.org

Course Monitoring:

Within 6 months following the successful completion of the Instructor course, the instructor candidate must be monitored teaching by Training Center Faculty (The TC may require additional monitoring, if needed).

Course recognition is 2 years from the date of the classroom portion of the course. The instructor card supersedes the provider card.

**Please note:  If you do not plan to teach primarily within St. Charles County (i.e., approx. 90% of your classes), you will need to align as an instructor with another AHA training center prior to attending the class. When you come to class, please have your Training Center's address and the name of their TC Coordinator, and bring the completed instructor candidate application form found HERE.

INSTRUCTORS ALIGNED WITH RC HEALTH SERVICES: If RC Health Services is your Primary AHA Training Center, you cannot attend this instructor course and must contact your TC Coordinator to find an alternative location. We apologize for the inconvenience.

REGISTRATION & REFUNDS

Registrations are taken on a first come, first served basis, and are not confirmed until registration and payment is completed online. Space is limited, so we strongly recommend registering as early as possible.

Classes may be cancelled due to insufficient enrollment. A complete refund will be issued if this occurs.

If you need to cancel a registration, you must do so at least 48 hours in advance to receive a refund (minus a $10.00 processing fee). Cancellations received less than 48 hours prior to the program date are not refundable. If possible and sufficient class space is available, registration may be transferred to another date.

Promotional codes, for online registration, are assigned and are intended for use by pre-designated users only. Registrants found to have used unauthorized promotional codes will be required to pay full course fees or have registration cancelled.

ACCREDITATION

St. Charles County Ambulance District is approved as an EMS training entity through the Missouri Department of Health, Bureau of EMS. Certificates and CEUs will be awarded upon completion of applicable courses.
